Christmass Apple pie - Karácsonyi süti

Dick has made his first real Dutch apple pie

Fideris - skitouren

We spent two lovely days in a small, peacefull ski resort of Fideris Heuberge in the middle of the Swiss Alps. On the first day straight after arrival we headed towards Mattlishorn (right top) in heavy wind, considerable avalance risk and low visibility
We fighted hard with the föhn, the strong southern warm wind on the ridge...
..but still determided going to reach the top..
..with every means...
...against the wind...
..still going up on the slope where the wind already blew away most of the snow.
and finally on the top of Mattlishorn 2461 m
Next day we opted for Glattwang, another peak in the region.
The conditions were much better with clear visibility
on the valley of Fideris
..with much more sun

and suburb view of the surrounding.
Towards the Glattwang (2376 m) still with high spirit...
..but the dangerous condition on the ridge made us to turn back with clearly a lower spirit
However the successful ascent of Garauscha (2299.5 m) made our day!
In the cosy, warm Berghaus Arflina at 2000 all our effort got rewarded.
And on the last day we mastered the longest Swiss Sledge track of 12 km of 1300 descent (at least the advertisement says so) in 45 minutes.
